What requirements do I need to meet in order to adopt a dog through RHAS?
You must be 18 years old or older, and you must live within an approximately 2-hour drive of our Fremont facility
What is “F2A”?
Foster-To-Adopt! In short, after the initial steps of submitting an adoption application/survey and having a meet and greet, we require everyone to bring home their prospective pup to live with them for a minimum of one week before we can even consider finalizing the adoption.
Do you do same day adoptions?
Nope! We require all adoptions take place through our foster-to-adopt process 🙂
What does it cost to adopt a dog through RHAS?
The adoption fee ranges from $300 to $500 depending on the age of the pup (the specific breakdown can be viewed on our main adoptions page). This adoption fee is only paid at the very very end of our F2A process and until then, RHAS takes responsibility for all necessary care costs.
Do you have cats?
Nope, just dogs! RHAS used to have a cat program but realized we couldn’t run a cat program the right way with our current resources. If that changes in the future, we would love to be able to work with cats in a way that meets their needs.
How do I see all your available dogs?
Right now, the easiest way to view available dogs is through our adoptions page on this website or through our Instagram (@resilientheartsanimalsanctuary). Please email adoptions@rhas.love for more information regarding our available pups.
Where do you intake dogs from?
We primarily get our animals from Eastern Washington, and the majority of our dogs come from Yakima Valley Pet Rescue
I see you have community hours, can I just drop in and see your available dogs?
As a foster based rescue, we often have the majority of our animals off site with their foster families. The animals you see during our community hours are with us for daycare, events, and socialization. If you are interested in a specific pup because you want to adopt, please complete an adoption survey and reach out to our adoptions team.
Since we are a foster based rescue, at any given moment, most of our pups are not on-site and are instead having fun with their foster families! The pups on-site during our community hours are just the ones who needed daycare, as we provide free daycare to all of our fosters+F2As until adoption is finalized. So, while you’re more than welcome to just drop in during our community hours, if you’re wanting to meet any specific pups, it must be through an official meet and greet scheduled with our adoptions team <3
