FIRST STEPS

All adoptions start with filling out an adopter survey to help us get to know you (and your experiences with pets) a little better. Surveys are processed on a rolling basis, and remain on file with us for up to one-year.

MEET AND GREETS

After reviewing your survey, we schedule a time for you and your family to meet the animal you want to adopt. This is the time to ask questions and gain a feel if this animal is right for you! We’ll ask that you bring all the members of your household and any dogs that live in your home.

All Meet and Greets are by appointment only. Our adoption team will reach out to you to schedule a m&g once we have received your adopter survey!

FINAL STEPS

All of our adoptions must first complete a week-long trial period before the animal officially becomes yours. Think of this as a Test Drive! During this trial period, our adoption team can provide resources and advice to guide you along, we will provide all the necessary supplies, and will provide medical support if needed. If the trial goes well, our team will text you an adoption contract and you can finalize the adoption from your couch!

Animal Health

All of our animals are microchipped, spayed/neutered, and current on all age-appropriate vaccinations prior to adoption.

We know that vet appointments can be difficult to get for new pets in the Seattle area – Resilient Hearts will work with you to help fulfill any outstanding medical needs your dog or cat may have. We do our best to make sure you take home a healthy animal, and do not want to abandon anyone who still needs us!

ADOPTION FEES

All of our adopted animals are spayed and neutered before being adopted. All animals are also up-to-date on all vaccines, current on flea treatments, treated for heart worm, and microchipped. All adoption fees collected contribute to our ongoing efforts to save more animals.
