FIRST STEPS

FIRST STEPS

All adoptions start with filling out an adopter survey to help us get to know you, what experience you have with pets, and what you’re looking for. Surveys are processed on a rolling basis, and remain on file with us for up to one year. We consider one family/person at a time for an animal, because comparing potential adopters to one another only makes everyone (us included) more stressed while reaching the same outcomes.

MEET AND GREETS (M&G)

MEET AND GREETS (M&G)

After reviewing your survey, we will reach out to you with any clarifying questions, and to schedule a time for you and your family to meet the animal you want to adopt. This is the time to ask questions and gain a feel if this animal is right for you! We’ll ask that you bring all the members of your household and any dogs that live in your home. All Meet and Greets are by appointment only. Our adoption team will reach out to you to schedule a M&G once we have received your adopter survey!

 FINAL STEPS

FINAL STEPS

In order to finalize an adoption, we require that the animal be altered (spayed/neutered), and that you complete a minimum of one week in foster to adopt. This is a time for you to test out having the animal live with you to see how everything goes and make sure everyone is comfortable and ready to formally adopt your newest family member. During the foster to adopt period, we are still responsible for the animal and will provide all the necessary supplies, medical care, and work with you to make sure you have the support you need. Once you have met the requirements to adopt and have decided this is the right fit, let our adoption team know and we will text (and email) you an adoption contract that can be completed wherever you happen to be. Questions? Email our adoptions team at Adoptions@rhas.love.

FINAL STEPS

All of our animals are microchipped, spayed/neutered, and current on all age-appropriate vaccinations prior to adoption.
We know that vet appointments can be difficult to get for new pets in the Seattle area – Resilient Hearts will work with you to help fulfill any outstanding medical needs your dog or cat may have. We do our best to make sure you take home a healthy animal, and do not want to abandon anyone who still needs us!

ADOPTION FEES
